A. 1. Being a single parent has its ups and downs.
In the text ‘’Survey dispels myth of failing single parents’’, an article by Dennis Campbell – 2006. We follow three single mothers and their vision of their way of raising a child without a man/father. In the article, we hear different aspects and views about raising a child while being a single mom. The benefits are that they become stronger as a person and as an individual – because they have to take actions themselves and have to use their own experience. It’s also mentioned that they can help their children in a much better way when it’s only their mom who can take care of them, they make a much better bound to each other. We also hear that they have been abandoned while being pregnant by their father/men, as Rebecca did in the article when she was only 9 months.

2. An outline in the three texts – positive and negatives. When we speak about positive things in the article, there is many things that goes around. It’s told that u actually don’t even need a man to have a baby, all u have to do is go down to the sperm bank and look for a man that has the right ‘’genes’’ and in this way your child won’t have to worry about not having a dad because it’s anonymous. And your child won’t have to witness a father leaving. The benefits of being a single mom is that you have the control of your child, u don’t have to argue with anyone about how u should raise your own child. The negative sides about being a single parent is that u won’t really have much time to yourself, the child will need your attention all the time because you are the only parent. This means not many holidays or spare time. The economy will also not be the very best because you’ll also only have one source of income.

3. Comment on ‘’It’s better for the child to live without conflict’’ As it’s mentioned in the text there are of course some benefits to raise a child as a single parent, u would not have to discuss with your partner how u should raise your own child – it’s up to you, but again maybe it’s does have some negative sides to it. When children come to this world they would need a role model, and that would obviously be a parent at first. Both the mom and dad would have different aspects towards the child that it could use in the future, rather than only having one ‘’role model’’ Kids learn from early age and it is important that they are pushed in the right direction, rather in the wrong direction.









4. Article. Are u one of those who just don’t have the time to look for the perfect man? or maybe your not just interested at the moment, maybe u can handle things on your own and be independent. And u are more than ready to have children, then this is what u should do. Present day it’s actually possible to make/have kids without a ‘’male’’ All u have to do is go down to the sperm bank and choose what ever u want? Yes, it is really that simple!














But – it comes with its consequences. Not having a father to look up to can be rough for your child, and may change your child into a unknown individual when is has no father to look up to. U would also need to do everything yourself, despite u might have a low economy and that can be rough! Remember to look at the small things even through they don’t seem to be that big of a deal right now as it is. Getting pregnant can be the best feeling in the world and really exciting – but it can also be a tough battle for both the child and parent.
